Siti Rahmah, Silvi Fauzia, Elsa Siti Shalma

This study aims to measure the influence of learning independence and learning comfort on the assessment of students' attitudes in elementary school. This study is a correlational research of descriptive research with a quantitative method that uses the SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) approach with the help of Smart PLS. This study uses survey techniques with data collected through questionnaires, The subjects of this study are 240 elementary school student and female respondents in the Cirebon City and Regency Areas. For data analysis, we use Smart PLS. The structure of the relationship model testing resulted in three hypotheses. Among these hypotheses, only between Learning Comfort and Learning Independence showed a p value of 0.351 which showed no significant influence. However, the assessment of the remaining hypothesis attitudes showed a significant influence. This research model meets the criteria of the fit model, with data based on SRMR (Standardized Root Mean Square Value) of 0.090 publications, this study anticipates an increase in student independence, student learning comfort towards the assessment of elementary school students' attitudes. Further research efforts are essential to expand the sample size and explore the variables that affect students' learning independence and learning comfort. A Comparative Content Analysis of Science Textbooks on the Solar System: A Critical Study of the KTSP and Merdeka Curricula

Sintiyani Fatikha Rizki

This study aims to analyze and compare science textbooks focused on the solar system for fourth-grade elementary school students. A literature review identifies several essential criteria that quality textbooks must fulfill. If deficiencies are found, revisions are necessary to ensure effective teaching. Science textbooks should also include activities that promote critical thinking among students. The research evaluates the content feasibility, language use, and presentation suitability of science textbooks aligned with the KTSP and Merdeka Curriculum regarding solar system material. A qualitative descriptive approach is employed, concentrating on science textbooks about the solar system for fourth-grade students. Data collection involves observation, documentation, and analysis of errors and conceptual accuracy within the textbooks. The findings reveal minor errors in the KTSP textbooks, particularly in language and presentation aspects. In contrast, the Merdeka Curriculum textbooks are deemed suitable as learning resources for sixth-grade students. Their comprehensive content, simple and understandable language, and engaging, interactive presentation make these books effective in supporting the learning process. Overall, the Merdeka Curriculum textbooks are more appropriate than the KTSP textbooks as teaching materials for elementary science.

The Effect of Stress Levels and Social Support on the Risk of Depression in School Students: A Study of Psychological Balance under Academic Pressure

Nazwa shofa, Haning Ditasuri, Nurzakiyah Darojah

Mental well-being serves as a critical factor in shaping students’ academic success and overall quality of life. Elevated academic stress combined with insufficient social support has been linked to a heightened likelihood of experiencing depression. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of academic stress and perceived social support on students’ risk of depression. A total of 300 respondents participated, comprising junior high school students from SMPN 1 Cirebon and undergraduate students from Institut Prima Bangsa Cirebon. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach using survey techniques, with data analysis carried out through binary logistic regression. The constructs of stress and depression were assessed using selected items from the DASS-42 scale, while perceived social support was measured through the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). The analysis revealed that academic stress significantly elevated the probability of depression, whereas greater levels of social support played a significant role in mitigating that risk. These findings highlight the necessity of implementing effective stress management strategies and fostering supportive environments within educational settings. This research offers empirical insights to the fields of psychology and education, particularly in understanding how academic stress and social support interact to influence mental health outcomes among adolescents and emerging adults.

The study was carried out at SDN 1 Ciledug Lor using a qualitative descriptive method, and the participant was a fifth-grade teacher. A semi-structured interview with an emphasis on teaching practices using repurposed materials was used to collect data. The findings demonstrate that the instructor employed a project-based learning strategy in which students were invited to bring in used plastic bottles and work both independently and cooperatively on artistic endeavors. Students were urged by this method to take responsibility for their work and surroundings, manage their time, and keep their surroundings tidy. Students were guided toward good behavioral change using a humanistic approach. ANALYSIS STUDENTS’ DIFFICULTIES OF PROBLEM SOLVING IN SOCIAL STUDIES

Agus Wijaya

This study explores the difficulties faced by fourth-grade students at SDN 2 Tegal Wangi in solving problems in Social Studies learning. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing observations, interviews, and document analysis to obtain comprehensive data. The findings reveal that students experience three main difficulties: understanding questions, connecting concepts to real-life experiences, and developing systematic problem-solving strategies. These difficulties are influenced by internal factors such as low learning motivation, lack of self-confidence, and limited critical thinking skills, as well as external factors like teacher-centered learning methods and limited learning resources. The study recommends several solutions, including the integration of structured reading strategies, the application of contextual problem-based learning, and the development of students' planning and evaluation habits. This research contributes valuable insights for teachers and education practitioners in designing more effective learning strategies to enhance students' problem-solving skills in Social Studies at the elementary school level.
