Confirmatory Factor Analysis of the Child Feeding Questionnaire: A Measure of Parental Attitudes, Beliefs and Practices About Child Feeding and Obesity Proneness

Valia Rachmawati, Ajeng Aliya Zahwa, Angeliq Kezia Haloho

This study aimed to examine the construct validity and reliability of the Child Feeding Questionnaire (CFQ) within the context of parental feeding practices and risk of childhood obesity in Indonesia. The instrument consists of three core constructs: Beliefs, Parental Attitudes, and Practices. A confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was employed to assess convergent validity, discriminant validity, and internal consistency of the measurement model. The results indicated that the Beliefs and Parental Attitudes constructs demonstrated satisfactory internal consistency, as indicated by Cronbach’s Alpha and Composite Reliability values exceeding the recommended thresholds. However, the Practices construct demonstrated low reliability and weak indicator loadings, suggesting the need for revision or further development. Discriminant validity among the constructs was established based on the Fornell-Larcker criterion and HTMT values. Nevertheless, the overall model fit indices did not meet acceptable standards, primarily due to the weaknesses observed in the Practices construct. These findings the underscore importance of culturally adapting and refining the CFQ before its use in research or intervention programs aimed at promoting healthy feeding behaviors and preventing childhood obesity.

Analisis pelanggaran lalu lintas olrh barisan pemadam kebakaran beserta anggota nya peraturan daerah kota Banjarmasin no 2 tahun 2023 yang mengatur tentang pencegahan, penanggulangan kebakaran, dan penyelamatan dengan pendekatan maqasid syariah

fiona widiyastuti widodo

The phenomenon of traffic violations by the fire brigade (BPK) and its members in Banjarmasin City(Halim & Sarbini, 2023, p. 119)because Banjarmasin City is not only famous for its floating market tourism and the city of a thousand rivers, the nickname of Banjarmasin City is also famous for its 1000 firefighters (damkar) or what is often called the Fire Brigade (BPK).(Anshari & An'amta, 2025). becomes a complex legal and social issue. The actions of driving at high speed, running red lights, and ignoring traffic signs are often considered normal because emergency situations demand speed in saving lives and property. However, on the other hand, these actions pose potential dangers to other road users and open up space for a dilemma between humanity and law enforcement. This study seeks to examine the practice of traffic violations by members of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) in relation to Banjarmasin City Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2023 concerning Fire Prevention, Handling, and Rescue, through a normative legal approach and analysis of maqāṣid shari'ah, especially in the aspect of preserving the soul (ḥifẓ al-nafs). By integrating Mahfud Junaidi's maqāṣid syarī'ah theory, phenomenological theory, and the principles of good governance, this study found that the violations occurred not only due to emergency needs, but also influenced by weak supervision, a lack of understanding of operational procedures, and minimal legal awareness among BPK members. From the perspective of maqāṣid syarī'ah, rescue actions must be carried out with the principles of justice and benefit to avoid causing harm to other communities. Therefore, there is a need for an evaluation of standard operating procedures, increased training, and strengthened coordination between the BPK and the police to ensure a balance between public safety and effective fire management. This research is expected to provide a conceptual contribution in the development of regional policies that are more responsive, equitable, and in line with sharia values.

Implementation of Mineral and Coal Mining Business Permit Policy in Murung Raya Regency

Muhammad Rian Pratama

Mining of minerals and coal is one of Indonesia's strategic sectors contributing significantly to national development. However, the implementation of mining business permit policies often encounters gaps between legal norms and practical realities, particularly at the regional level. This study aims to analyze the implementation of mineral and coal mining business permit policies in Murung Raya Regency, identify the factors affecting their effectiveness, and formulate recommendations for policy improvement. Using a qualitative–empirical method with a socio-legal research approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis involving government officials, mining companies, and local communities. The findings indicate that weak communication, limited resources, and overlapping authority have hindered effective policy implementation, resulting in poor supervision, low corporate compliance, and significant social–environmental impacts. The study concludes that the main issue lies not in regulatory substance but in governance effectiveness at the local level. This research contributes to the field of public policy and administrative law by providing empirical insights into local governance dynamics and offering strategies for strengthening transparency, accountability, and sustainable resource management in Indonesia's mining sector.

Analysis of Banjarmasin City Regulation No. 133 of 2023 concerning Procedures for Collecting Parking Service Fees in an Effort to Prevent Illegal Fees

Dianatul Habibah

The rampant practice of illegal levies in the parking sector in the city of Banjarmasin has resulted in leakage of local revenue (PAD) and reduced public trust in the government. The ratification of Banjarmasin mayoral regulation number 133 of 2023 concerning "management and procedures for collecting parking service fees" aims to streamline the parking system to be more orderly, transparent, and accountable. This study uses a qualitative approach with a normative-empirical method that examines the legal side of the regulation while evaluating the effectiveness of its implementation in the field for the community and parking officers. Although this regulation provides a clear legal basis, its implementation has not been optimal due to weak supervision, and cooperation between the government, parking officers, and the community to reduce the practice of illegal levies. This study contributes to the scientific field by providing empirical studies in constitutional law and regional public policy, regarding the importance of implementing regulations as an application of the principles of good governance in the management of public services.

ChatGPT's Handling of L2 Learners’ Fossilized Errors: A Linguistic Evaluation

Zahratun Nufus, Saleman Mashood Warrah

This study investigates ChatGPT’s capacity to address fossilized grammatical errors in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners’ academic writing. Through a mixed-methods design, a controlled corpus of 500 hypothetical sentences containing persistent error types, such as verb tenses, articles, prepositions, and non-idiomatic expressions, was submitted to ChatGPT-4. Quantitative analysis evaluated correction accuracy using standard metrics (precision, recall, F-score), while qualitative content analysis assessed the pedagogical appropriateness and consistency of ChatGPT’s feedback. Results showed high accuracy in correcting rule-based structures (e.g., subject-verb agreement), but significantly lower performance for context-sensitive and fossilized errors. While ChatGPT often provided clear corrections, its feedback frequently lacked explanatory depth, contextual sensitivity, and scaffolding necessary for promoting learner noticing and long-term acquisition. These findings suggest that although ChatGPT can effectively support surface-level proofreading, it cannot fully substitute the role of human instructors in addressing deeply ingrained L2 errors. The study emphasizes the importance of explainable AI, AI literacy, and hybrid instructional models that combine technological efficiency with pedagogical intentionality. It offers implications for educators, curriculum developers, and AI tool designers seeking to integrate language models into second language acquisition contexts.

Pragmatic Failure in EFL Learners’ Emails and AI Grammar Tools Feedback

Nur Ifadloh, Ameen Saliman Abdullahi, Rani Aryanti Rukmana

This study investigates the pragmatic failures found in EFL learners’ academic email communication and evaluates the extent to which AI grammar tools can detect and address such failures. Drawing on theories of interlanguage pragmatics and politeness, the research identifies recurring issues in the realization of requests, apologies, and formal politeness—where learners often produce grammatically correct yet pragmatically inappropriate messages. These failures commonly stem from first-language pragmatic transfer and a lack of explicit instruction in target language norms. Adopting a mixed-methods approach, the study analyzed a corpus of 640 elicited emails from 80 EFL university students and assessed feedback from Grammarly, Quillbot, and ChatGPT using comparative qualitative and quantitative analysis. While the tools effectively corrected surface-level errors, they fell short in addressing context-sensitive pragmatic nuances such as indirectness, tone, and formality. The findings underscore the distinction between linguistic and pragmatic competence, highlight the limitations of current AI tools in fostering pragmatic awareness, and emphasize the need for explicit, context-rich instruction. This study contributes to a more integrated understanding of how human expertise and AI technologies can collaboratively support pragmatic development in digital language learning environments.

Narrative Explorations of EFL Learners’ Engagement with AI Tools in Developing Writing Proficiency

Lailatun Najmiah, Alaa Hussein Jafar Al-Anbari

This study explores the lived experiences of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners engaging with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to support their academic writing development. Using a narrative inquiry approach, the research investigates how learners describe their interactions with AI technologies such as ChatGPT and Grammarly, and what challenges and opportunities they perceive. Eighteen university-level EFL students participated in in-depth interviews, revealing that AI tools are widely appreciated for enhancing linguistic accuracy, improving efficiency, boosting writing confidence, and supporting idea generation. These benefits align with the Technology Acceptance Model and Sociocultural Theory, suggesting that AI acts as both a facilitator of ease and a scaffold within learners’ Zones of Proximal Development. However, the findings also highlight substantial concerns related to academic integrity, over-reliance, and AI’s limitations in generating culturally nuanced or critically engaging content. This duality reflects the "Paradox of Assistance," where the same features that make AI valuable can also inhibit deeper learning if uncritically used. The study emphasizes the need for intentional, pedagogically guided integration of AI in EFL writing instruction, promoting a balanced Human-AI collaboration that empowers learners as autonomous and reflective writers.

Discourse Markers in Learners’ YouTube Comments: A Study of Informal Academic English

Raudhatul Haura, Aloba Fatimah Musa

This study investigates the use of discourse markers (DMs) by English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners in YouTube comments on academic-related videos. Drawing on Fraser’s typology, the research explores the types of DMs most frequently used and how learners employ them to structure arguments, express stance, and maintain coherence in informal academic English. A total of 300 learner comments, some from the same users, were collected from ten academic YouTube videos and analysed through qualitative content analysis. The findings reveal that learners primarily used contrastive, elaborative, and inferential discourse markers such as but, also, and therefore to organize ideas and express reasoning. Stance-related markers like I think and actually were also prevalent, signaling learners' personal evaluations. Additionally, elaborative markers contributed to textual flow and coherence. These patterns indicate that EFL learners are able to apply academic discourse strategies within informal digital contexts, demonstrating emerging discourse competence and pragmatic awareness. The study highlights the pedagogical potential of digital platforms like YouTube as spaces for meaningful language use and suggests incorporating informal online texts into language teaching practices.

Muhammad Arifin

This study aims to systematically examine the relationship between conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills in elementary school students during mathematics learning. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted using the PRISMA protocol. A total of 32 relevant journal articles published between 2006 and 2024 were selected from databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, DOAJ, and ResearchGate. Mendeley was used for reference management and NVivo 12 Plus was employed for thematic coding and qualitative synthesis. The review reveals a significant relationship between students’ conceptual understanding and their critical thinking abilities, especially when real-world, contextual problem-solving activities are applied. Strategies such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL), inquiry-based instruction, visual media, and metacognitive approaches were consistently effective in strengthening both skills. Contextual and reflective learning environments further support the development of integrated cognitive competencies. Despite these findings, gaps remain in long-term experimental studies and in understanding the mediating role of visual learning tools. This study provides theoretical insights and practical implications for improving mathematics instruction in elementary education.
